LAKE GEORGE, Colo. – Eleven Mile State Park will host the annual Colorado Classic Pro-Am Ice Fishing Tournament series produced by the 11 Mile Marina, starting with the Grand Slam held Jan. 7, followed by the South Park Ice Masters Traveling Trophy Feb. 4 and ending with the Marina March Madness March 4, 2017. This well-established ice fishing tournament series continues to grow and attract ice anglers from near and far, ranging in all ages and abilities.
The team contest is three events in one. A team consists of two anglers. Teams can enter individual events or all three. Those that enter all three save $50 and can win bonus cash, prizes and trophies. Thousands of dollars in cash and prizes are awarded at each contest. The Grand Slam awards cash prizes for three species of fish—trout, northern pike and kokanee salmon. The South Park Ice Masters is a trout-only contest for serious cash. Winning teams have walked away from the Masters with a green jacket, bragging rights and over $4K. The Marina March Madness tournament is comprised of three, two-hour fishing sets at the North Shore and provides lots of winning opportunities along with an on-ice barbecue and basketball shoot-out for cash and prizes.
The 11 Mile Marina is extremely excited about the upcoming sponsorship lineup. For the past four years, Cabela’s has been a successful Presenting Sponsor and great supporter of the Colo. Other new Participating Sponsors include three retailers that provide ice anglers with something they appreciate in today’s online shopping and big box world–great customer service. Valley Country Tackle in Aurora, Colorado Tackle Pro in Colorado Springs andTumbling Trout in Lake George will be Participating Sponsors for the first time.
